References for your research paper can be organized in various ways depending on the style used. You'll first want to consult with your professor or thesis advisor to see which style (i.e., APA) you must use for your assignment.

Once you've identified the style you need to use, you can consult the Writing & Citing Guide to find tips and information about how to organize your references and format your paper.

You may also use the RefWorks citation manager to help organize sources as you write your paper. You must create an account using your Cal State LA email, and the service will organize your references in the appropriate style.
